Baby registries are nor really widespread in this part of the world, but they work much the same as the wedding gift list. You register with a shop of your choice, and choose the items that you want to get from the guests at your baby shower. Guests then buy gifts off that list.

Some shops will give you a handheld scanner, which you can use to scan the barcodes of the items that you want included on your list. That makes it really simple to put your list together! As guests buy gifts, they’ll be taken off the list, so everyone will know what they still need to get.

It does help to avoid getting a whole lot of duplicate gifts, since your guests will know what you need. However, it is also wise to make sure that the gifts on your list are affordable to your guests. Choose cheaper items as well as more expensive ones, and remember that a few people will still choose to venture off the list, and choose gifts on their own!
