·         Suranga got up from her seat as the telephone starts ringing.

No way to do anything with these disturbing telephone calls.’ she thought as usual. And

with that displeased mind she started to talk to the telephone in a indolent manner.

But this is not her usual self. She was a very energetic, busy and active person. She was

used to do everything with that quality.

‘Suranga was a very prompt girl. That is how the people who knew her usually said about

her. That was the truth. Nobody could compete with her.

Though she came to the phone with such a lazy manner she answered the phone as a cracker

in her usual tone.

  ‘Hello good morning!’

‘Hello good morning, Could I speak to Miss Suranga Rangani Mihiripenna?’

  ‘Yes, it is Suranga here...’

‘Miss Suranga, here I’m Sithumini Hathurusinghe from the Mihiliya Paper...’

The other one who spoke over was a journalist and she paused a little until only Suranga

starts again.

‘Yes. Miss Sithumini, tell me..’ saying  so she began in her usual hasty tone.

‘Miss Suranga, I’m so sorry to disturb you at this time of the day. If you are not realy busy,

can you please spare me a moment?’

If you are ready to wait till I am getting rest from my work, you will never get a chance saying  so, she let Sithumini to continue.

‘That is true. Not only myself, no one could expect that from a well known professional

innovative film director like you. That of cause a known fact.  And everybody believe  that.  But we spare this valuable moment to inform them about your latest film’s direction. And tell them about those techniques which supported you to achieve this success, and not only that to  tell them details of your latest fishing on this new actress Miss Dewie Udumbara, who won the best actress award by her first film itself and everything.’  As this journalist Sithumini gave time and, Suranga’s voice hastily began,

‘First of all, I like to say...’

Then as soon as Suranga’s voice paused for a second Suthumini encouraged her,

  ‘Yes, come on Suranga!’

‘Though they say so, I have a doubt about it.’ she said carelessly.

‘That is the main spatiality in you.’ Without any hesitation, the journalist answered back

to her.  But Suranga let it pass and did not comment. After  silent two seconds only she started

again.

‘Yes, now what do you want to know?’

‘Truly, we do not have to say your hearty fans again and again as they have already known

you as such a popular director, but we must tell them that you are the leading woman director in

those few. And the other thing in you is you are the youngest of those directors.

‘Sure, we wanted to discuss your victory & about your precise actress.’ saying that she got

into the track by changing the topic.

‘Actually, as we all knew this Udumbara Dewi is not an actress who has been on the same

stream or got any experience in that line. Even from the stage or theatre before this instance.

Forgive me and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.’ After this statement she paused a moment

giving her the opportunity to argue but she did not.

‘Yes, Sithumini I agree with you. But I do not buy that she is unprofessional. According to

my knowledge, she has learnt a lot, but not by following any course in Theater and Drama. She

has learnt all those things watching closely most of the Bollywood cinemas and all the Sinhala

films. She had learnt a lot by that way from our seniors’ acting capacities.

By this time Suranga’s voice has been very emotional. The professional tone she had in her voice when she began with has now disappeared from her without notifying and it has dressed with this emotional hue.

May you excuse me, I like to ask this?’

Suddenly at once, Sithumini disturbed her at this most suitable moment according to her

experienced career though it was not a very lengthy one. With the experience, she knew the precise

time to cross the line.

·         And she selected the best point she can interfere with the other party.

‘Yes Sithumini,’ Suranga let her start brushing aside her interference.
